Hole #1 - 564 Yards Par 5
This short but narrow opening hole plays slightly downhill to a green site well protected with bunkers right. Smart players will play two positioned shots leaving a short approach. Those who play boldly will bring the severe fall-off slope right into play. Play smart and this hole is not difficult.
Hole #2 - 423 Yards Par 4
Playing into a beautiful valley with towering vegetated slopes, this medium length hole doglegs around a creek to a green site heavily bunkered to its left. Risky tee shots right will leave a short approach.
Hole #3 - 516 Yards Par 5
This Par 5 plays downhill from elevated tees to a wide first landing area. From here, the hole tightens with a stream right and plays downhill to an open stream short of the green site. The hole can be reached in two but the long second shot will be difficult from a downhill lie. Like the first hole, two smartly played shots will leave an easy approach to the green-bunkered right and with some severe steps. Plenty of bailout is available left of the green. This Risk/rewardrisk/reward hole can be attacked or played conservatively.
Hole #4 - 351 Yards Par 4
Although somewhat intimidating from the tee, this short Par 4 provides a wide landing area leaving a short second shot to the elevated green. Catch bunkers left at both the landing area and green will hold errant balls. Again, smart play off the tee will pay off. As with many of the holes, smart position is key on this shot maker's course.
Hole #5 - 163 Yards Par 3
Playing into a stunning backdrop, this medium length Par 3 plays slightly up to an elevated green wellprotected by beautiful bunkering. The front and middle of the green is fairly easy to reach but back left pin positions will require very accurate and bold play.
Hole #6 - 561 Yards Par 5
This long, uphill Par 5 plays into a vast canyon surrounded by thick vegetation and drained by an open stream ending in a beautiful series of waterfalls at the tees. Plenty of turf is provided from tee to green but the constant slope will prove quite demanding. The beautiful green site is built into a natural waterfall/pond setting. This should prove to be the number 1 handicap hole.
Hole #7 - 186 Yards Par 3
Placed at the top of the world, this short Par 3 plays downhill to a well-bunkered green set above an enormous slope leaving one of the most stunning views in all of golf. From the green site you can overlook almost two complete courses, all surrounded by towering slopes of the National Forest. Additionally, this hole is carved into a rock face along the left edge that will become a feature in itself. This should prove to be one of the showcase holes in the entire Mission Hills 10 course complex.
Hole #8 - 232 Yards Par 3
Following the short 7th, this long Par 3 plays slightly downhill to a green that angles right to left with plenty of bunkering left. A large bunker short of the green appears closer than it really is and hides a large bailout area right of the green. Play slightly less club as the ball will tend to feed into the green.
Hole #9 - 335 Yards Par 4
Dramatically downhill, this short Par 4 provides great risk-reward opportunity for long hitters. A wide, ample landing area is provided for fairway wood or long iron tee shots but things tighten up past the main landing zone. Those who do want to hit the driver can feed the ball near or on the green. Tee it up and let it fly!
Hole #10 - 508 Yards Par 5
From elevated tees with tremendous views, this hole plays slightly downhill to a wide first landing area then slightly back up to a well-bunkered green site, the smart play is to keep your second shot to the left for the best approach. Aggressive play too long and left, however, will bring trouble into play as the elevated fairway falls sharply off.
Hole #11 - 406 Yards Par 4
(Signature Hole)
Dramatically downhill, this medium length Par 4 is most demanding at the second shot as an open channel cuts across the front of the well-bunkered green site. Tee shots played towards the fairway bunkers will provide the best angle in. Long tee shots will leave only a short pitch to the green.
Hole #12 - 177 Yards Par 3
This rather gentle, not overly demanding hole is a welcomed breather on this shot maker's course. Plenty of bailout left is provided and will feed balls onto the green surface. A series of bunkers on the right provide some visual drama but need not be flirted with. Keep it left of center and catch a feeder slope.
Hole #13 - 523 Yards Par 5
This short Par 5 provides the strongest Risk/rewardrisk/reward factor on the entire course. With a severe slope to the right, tee shots must play to the left but need not be overly long. From the first landing area, the hole drops severely to a green site down some 25 meters. Conservative second shots will catch the slope and end up very near the green. Aggressive tee shots will come to rest at a level landing area about 200 meters from the green site leaving a dramatic long iron shot downhill to the green. Smart players will play a safe tee shot as if it is a long Par 3, leaving an easy, downhill second shot to just short of the green. Bailout is provided left of the green but over the green is no good. Attack or play defensively, it is your choice!
Hole #14 - 546 Yards Par 5
Not long but playing uphill, this Par 5 provides a wide landing area protected by bunkers on the left at the turn. The second landing area can be attacked by any variety of clubs leaving a third to a slightly elevated green with a good number of bunkers. Nestled into a canyon, this tree-lined hole should prove quite challenging.
Hole #15 - 242 Yards Par 3
Played from elevated tees with an enormous view past the hole, this one-shot hole will require a long accurate shot that, if desired, can be played by feeding the ball in from the fairway. A series of cross-bunkers frame the hole giving it a wide-open feel.
Hole #16 - 347 Yards Par 4
Short but dangerous, this hole will offer a variety of options from the tee. A player can play safely to the main landing area or flirt with the bunkers as the hole tightens up. The downhill tee shot will tempt players to take the ball over the left carry bunker, catching a good slope and running up to the green. Aggressive play will leave a short pitch. The green is tricky with a draw through the center.
Hole #17 - 181 Yards Par 3
Straightforward and well protected by bunkers, this medium-long hole offers a variety of pin placements on this elevated green. Playing over a low wetland area, the hole plays against a beautiful backdrop of dense trees providing a wonderful view.
Hole #18 - 442 Yards Par 4
The longest Par 4 on the course is saved for last on this demanding 18th hole. Slightly uphill and doglegging left, the tee shot can be played left to cut the corner but bunkers and landscaped area comes into play. The second shot plays uphill to a green site set against a stunning backdrop of dense forest and features a unique green that falls away to the back sections. Front pins can be reached by running the ball in but a cross-bunker well short must be negotiated. A strong finishing hole on a strong shot maker's course.
